According to a national television broadcaster Metro TV Chief in Editor Helman Saragih, the committee yet creative to offer different or at least new programs at the cultural and tourism agenda. "The features remain stagnant. I don't see any change, if we just look tor-tor dance," Helman said, as quoted by Waspada Online over cellular phone.
"Honestly, I'm quite surprise to learn that Danau Toba festival still exist, since the annual grand cultural party looks vacuum for so long of time," said he, adding that government must have lack of interest to intensify the promotion.
Due to the weakness, Helman doubts festival will be able to attract large number of visitors to Lake Toba.
"Lake Toba still lag behind Bali as a popular tourism site. Poor attitude expressed by Parapat community seems the reason why Lake Toba visited by less tourists. Moreover, panoramic view in Bali is supported with clean environment," Helman remarked his criticism, as one of Batak youth who cares about Lake Toba and the festival.
He suggests that government should not stage the festival if it is not well prepared. "The festival very likely spend huge amount of state budget. Meanwhile, the result cannot meet its target," he said Thursday
